Kids' Club

Social skills are tough for our kids. Difficulties in reading social cues, absorbing social rules, and participating in conversations make it hard for our kids to make and sustain friendships. Social skill training can help give our kids tools to negotiate social situations. Our Kids' Club goal is to do just that, to improve social skills and give kids a place to practice them. And it's fun too!

Kids' Club is targeted to kids affected by Asperger's or High Functioning Autism, their siblings, and their parents/guardians. The group is also open to children with other disabilities -- come observe to see if the class will be beneficial in your situation. Currently our age range is from 4 to 18 years old, though other ages are welcome as well. Newcomers are always welcome.

This is a co-op club, meaning parents don't drop their kids off -- they stay and participate. This not only makes for a good family activity, it allows us to pool our parental experience and learn from one another. Working with other moms and dads who are in the same boat or who have been through it before with older kids builds a network of experience to draw upon when times get tough.

We request a $2.00 per kid per night materials fee. If this is a hardship, please skip the donation and attend anyway. Having your kids attend is more important to us than the money.
