They’re
LEGOs! They’re robots!
They’re LEGO robots!!
They’ve
got pinchers and gears and sensors and motors and LEGOS and more LEGOS
and
small computers and more LEGOS!
Check out our
LEGO Mindstorms robotics club for kids, teens, and their parents. Learn to build and program your own
robots. Real ones – just like the ones
university students around the country are building and battling. We’ll have tutorials and challenges and
projects and demos and obstacle courses and lots of folks to help you
get
started and applaud when you’re done. We’re
not able to supply the parts but we can
let you see what we have
and help you figure out what you need and point you to Ebay where you
can get
it at a better price. THIS IS NOT AS
HARD AS IT LOOKS!! But it is just as
cool.
This program is
conducted with Asperger’s and high-functioning autistic kids in mind
but it’s
open to everyone. Typical kids attend
too. These robots are as complex as you
make them, so they’re just as great for high-schoolers as they are
fourth
graders. While this is a social group
our focus is also on teaching problem solving, teamwork, and other job
skills. THIS IS NOT A DROP OFF PROGRAM. Unless they’re driving themselves to the
club kids must have a parent with them at all times.
Besides, you want to play toys too, right?
For meeting times and locations see our Calendar.
